Offset Committee

The Climate Trust Offset Committee is made up of 12 energy and environmental experts, including members of the Oregon Board of Directors. The committee reviews offset projects under consideration by The Climate Trust and makes funding recommendations to the Boards of Directors.

APPROVAL PROCESS

Step 1: Offset project concept is presented to the Offset Committee for recommendation about whether to negotiate an Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement (ERPA).

Step 2: Offset project details are presented to the Board of Directors for approval to enter contract negotiations.

Step 3: Project details and the proposed ERPA are presented to the Offset Committee for a recommendation about contract approval.

Step 4: The Board of Directors moves to approve or reject the ERPA.

Step 5: The Climate Trust's Executive Director signs the ERPA, thereby executing the contract.
