Oregon Program

The Climate Trust is the only qualified organization which manages funding from Oregon-based utilities with a statutory requirement to acquire carbon credits.  This program currently has $6 million available to purchase carbon credits.

Project requirements

The Climate Trust is seeking projects for the Oregon Program that

  • are implemented after the project enters negotiations with The Climate Trust.
  • avoid, sequester or displace carbon dioxide emissions.  Other greenhouse gasses (CH4, N2O, HFCs, PFCs, and SF6) are currently not eligible.

Project preferences

Given these requirements, the Oregon program is targeting the following sectors:

  • Innovative sequestration projects like aggregation of small-scale forestry projects or soil carbon sequestration.
