The Climate Trust, a mission-driven nonprofit that specializes in mobilizing conservation finance is proud to release our 2016 Annual Report. The report reflects on our accomplishments as a carbon market leader, and details our provision of financial support to quality carbon reduction projects. The digital format allows for a streamlined and interactive means to experience The Trust’s annual activities.

Each year, The Trust strives for transparency in reporting on our meaningful progress with partners, clients, and stakeholders. The 2016 edition features extensive financial and programmatic information, as well as project milestones, access to our Point of View guest author series, and comments direct from our partners.

A few words from Sean Penrith, Executive Director for The Climate Trust:

“The Trust’s 2016 activities included efforts to build a sizable, quality pipeline for our pilot carbon investment fund, while also helping to create a supportive policy environment for our climate-friendly activities. Our strategy saw us banding together with other industry professionals to ensure a continued role for offsets in a post-2020 California carbon reduction program, and we are proud of the leadership role we played in this ad hoc effort. There is much potential for positive climate impact that will come with the official roll out of Fund I in 2017—we’re very much looking forward to seeing our impact dollars in action.”

About: The Climate Trust mobilizes conservation finance to maximize environmental returns. Building upon a legacy of innovation and leadership in the carbon market, The Climate Trust accelerates the pace of carbon mitigation through conservation finance. We value air, water and soil through the development, purchase and sale of qualified offsets and a relentless investment in people and projects with environmental purpose.
