The Climate Trust Named Recipient of $7 million U.S. Forest Service Grants
We are excited to announce that we have been awarded two significant grants from the United States Forest Service (USFS), totaling approximately $7 million. Of this funding, $2 million will support TCT’s Tribal Reservation Allotment Carbon Enrollment (TRACE) program, which aims to pilot a pioneering forest carbon project. This project will focus on aggregating small parcels of land owned by or held in trust for individual Tribal members, creating a replicable model for carbon sequestration that benefits Tribal communities.
The remaining $5 million, awarded through the Enabling Reforestation and Afforestation Success (ERAS) program, will provide private landowners with financial support for implementing forest management practices that enhance carbon storage. These new initiatives will build upon and complement The Climate Trust’s ongoing efforts to develop nature driven carbon projects in collaboration with landowners across the country, further advancing our mission to drive climate solutions through forest carbon.
