TCT Brings Its First IFM Carbon Project to Canada
Carbon markets are creating new opportunities to protect forests while supporting landowners and rural communities. We are excited to announce that we have partnered with the Nova Scotia Working Woodlands Trust (NSWWT) to launch our first ever Improved Forest Management (IFM) carbon project in Canada!
By bringing together privately owned forestlands under a scalable carbon initiative, we are enabling landowners to place working forest easements on their properties, while the project helps prevent clear-cutting pressures, promotes sustainable forestry through long-term stewardship plans, and unlocks carbon revenue to fund monitoring and conservation.
With roughly 70% of Nova Scotia’s forests privately owned, this model provides a practical pathway for landowners to generate value from their land while maintaining healthy, resilient forests and contributing to climate action.
