NW Energy Coalitionpeter-weisberg-opt today announced their honorees for the annual 4 Under Forty awards, with The Climate Trust’s Senior Investment Manager, Peter Weisberg, among the recipients.

These awards recognize clean energy leaders under the age of 40 who model the passion and expertise needed to achieve a clean energy future. Four Under Forty honorees, including Rob Currier of Emerald People’s Utility District, Rose Lathrop of Sustainable Connections, and Charlie Woodruff of the U.S. Green Building Council-Idaho Chapter, will celebrate together at the 35th Anniversary Awards Gala on November 17th in Portland, OR.

Upon learning of being honored, Weisberg said, “I feel really lucky to get to work on emerging environmental markets with such a great team. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that others value the work that we’re doing in this space.”

“I am thrilled that a team member is receiving this prestigious NWEC award, and I couldn’t be more pleased that Peter has earned this recognition for his hard work,” said Sean Penrith, Executive Director for The Climate Trust. “A large majority of our team came together to offer their support of this nomination, as an acknowledgement of Peter’s dedication to our mission.”

Other awards to be presented at the Gala include the Bob Olsen Pacific Northwest Conservation Eagle Award, presented to the Lummi Nation; the Headwaters Award, presented to Margie Harris of Energy Trust of Oregon; and the Doug Still Memorial Community Organizing Award, presented to Joseph Bogaard of Save Our Wild Salmon.

The NW Energy Coalition is an alliance of about 100 environmental, civic, and human service organizations, progressive utilities, and businesses in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia. The coalition promotes development of renewable energy and energy conservation, consumer protection, low-income energy assistance, and fish and wildlife restoration on the Columbia and Snake rivers.

The NW Energy Coalition and its members advocate a clean and affordable energy future for the region based on:

  • Meeting all new energy demand with energy efficiency and new renewable resources
  • Full and fair accounting for the environmental effects of energy decisions
  • Protecting and restoring the fish and wildlife of the Columbia River Basin
  • Consumer and low-income protection
  • Informed public involvement in building a clean and affordable energy future
